Our Beliefs
We believe the Bible is God’s Word. It is living and powerful, inspired and accurate. It is our perfect guide in all matters of life. The Word of God is what sanctifies us (sets us apart) and truly sets us free.
2 Timothy 3:16, Hebrews 4:12, John 17:17
We believe that sin has separated man from God, and that only through faith in Jesus Christ can we be reconciled to God.
Romans 3:23, 2 Corinthians 5:17-21
We believe in one God who exists in three Persons — the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is loving, holy, and just. We believe God desires to transform, heal, and prosper each and every believer, so that we can live blessed and victorious lives that will also help others enter into an intimate relationship with Him.
Genesis 1:26, 1 John 5:7, 1 John 4:8, 1 Peter 1:15, Romans 3:26, 2 Corinthians 3:18, 3 John 2
We believe that Jesus Christ was both God and man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, and He was crucified for our sins. When He died on the cross, He took the punishment for our sins, and then He rose from the dead for our justification to give us His righteousness. Today, He is seated at the right hand of the Father as our High Priest. We believe our Lord Jesus Christ is coming back just as He promised.
Luke 1:35, Romans 5:8-9, Hebrews 8:1, Hebrews 4:14-15, 1 Timothy 2:5, 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18, Matthew 24
We believe that salvation is the gift of God to all mankind, and that an individual's salvation and eternal destiny depends solely upon receiving Jesus as one's personal Savior by grace, through faith in Him. We believe that upon receiving the gift of righteousness, a believer is not only forgiven of all of their sins but cleansed from all unrighteousness and made perfect forever by the blood of Jesus Christ. His grace alone provides everything we need to reign in life.
John 3:16-17, Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-10, Mark 16:15-16, Acts 4:12, Romans 5:17, Hebrews 10:14
We believe Holy Spirit is our Helper and our Teacher. He guides us in all areas of our lives. He enables us to bear fruit that is born of God as His nature has become our new identity in Christ Jesus. We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. We believe the Gifts of the Spirit are available today and can be operational and manifest through the life of a believer as Holy Spirit wills.
John 14:26, John 16:13, Galatians 5:22-23, Mark 16:17, Acts 2:1-4, Acts 8:14-15, Jude 20, 1 Corinthians 12:4-11
We believe in water baptism as an outward act that demonstrates a believer's identification with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. We believe in communion as a celebration of Jesus’ death and resurrection, and our union with Him. We believe that the benefits of Holy Communion can be received any time a believer partakes and receives in faith what the finished work of Christ provided.
Matthew 28:19-20, Acts 8:35-38
Our Pastors

Pastors Michael and Casey Gragg both grew up in Boone and have 4 amazing children. When called into ministry, we never imagined the opportunity to minister in our hometown, BUT God had a greater plan and purpose. Ministering in the high country since 2005, we have loved getting to know our community through a new lense and don’t take for granted the beauty and “home town” feel of Boone. The Rock has become a “local” church for many non-locals. We love helping people navigate new seasons when they move to the area. We would love to meet you at the next pastors meet and greet where we will share the story of The Rock and share a meal together.
Our Staff

Mike Bozeman
Family Pastor
Hi, I’m Mike Bozeman and I have the pleasure to serve as the Family Pastor here at The Rock Church. My wife Michelle, and I, with our three kids Nicholas, Calvin, and Kelsey moved to the High Country in 2011, from Buford Georgia. We are originally from Florida but the military has taken us all over the US. It’s been an honor to work with Children and Youth for the last twenty nine years. I have learned as much from them as they have from me. Our desire is that each child will come to know God and grow in Him and His amazing love. If you are new here or are interested in Children’s Ministry or just want to have a cup of coffee and a chat, don’t hesitate to contact me.

Lynn Hogan
Small Groups Coordinator and Administrative Ministries
Hi, I am Lynn Hogan and I serve the Rock as the Small Group Leaders Coordinator. I love helping to "get people together" to share their lives and better get to know this Jesus we love! My husband Jim and I have been coming to the Rock for several years. We love being here because there are so many opportunities to help make a difference in the church, in our communities and in ourselves. The leadership is helpful and respectful. They listen well and are more than willing to offer a hand.

Lori Mueller
Hospitality Ministry Coordinator and Ladies Ministry Co-Leader
I am Lori Mueller and I am a stay at home mom raising an awesome seven year old. Michael, Olivia and I moved to Boone from Houston, TX approximately four years ago and soon began attending The Rock. Family time, tennis, golfing, spending time with beautiful friends and simply enjoying mountain life are just a few of my favorite things. Currently, I serve as The Rock’s Hospitality Coordinator and co-labor with Pastor Casey for the Ladies Ministry. These roles have both changed and enriched my life in many beautiful ways. It’s truly an honor helping women discover their God-given purpose and full potential as we do life together.
Our History
Pastors Michael and Casey live in the mountains of Boone, NC with their four children. Both Pastors have served in various ministry roles since their teenage years, and in January 2015, they both heard God calling them to plant The Rock Church. Though the calling was simple, the process was not. However, The Rock was a dream and a vision long before it existed, and the Lord had been preparing them for this step. They felt released to share their vision for The Rock in January of 2015, and on March 1 of the same year, The Rock held its first Sunday Worship Service. God opened doors that no one else could and provided a location, volunteers, and leaders as only He could have. This church is living proof that when we are willing and available when He calls, God will finish the good work that He began.
