Core Values:

Worship-Oriented

The church is designed to help us exalt God as the center of our lives. When we are God-centered, we worship Him daily, listen to Him attentively, and follow His leadership exclusively. Our goal is to magnify Him, not ourselves.

People-Focused

God cares about people. When we are centered on Him, we begin to see the deep needs of those around us and are driven to serve them and bring them to Christ and to His church.

Grace-Filled

The church is to be filled with God's love which accepts people unconditionally, gives to people sacrificially, treats others with honor and grace, and maintains a passion for unity.

Truth-Driven

Truth matters. What you believe makes all the difference. God has graciously given us the truth in His Word, the Bible, which is the final authority for our lives and our greatest means of growth and life- change.

Family Ministry

We have all heard of the old African proverb, “It takes a village to raise a child.”  This is one of my favorite sayings and one we believe strongly in.  Or at least use to. Turn on the T.V. and see what is being taught, lived, and passed off as acceptable today and question my favorite saying and the fact that I am not sure that I want my kids taught by the village I live in.  As I pray this God reassures me that He is God.  You see, I tend to be a worrier.  And worries brings on doubt and fear, and is an enemy to faith.  But God is in control; he has plans for us and our kids (Jeremiah 29:11).  And when I am here on Sunday and see our volunteers interacting with the kids, or coming in to say hi to the children, or their little dances they do with the toddlers, which I do catch on video but promise them I would not put on Facebook. All this makes me realize my favorite quote still holds true, “It takes a village,” no wait!  Not a village, “It takes a CHURCH to raise a child.” There that sounds better, and I believe that if we all partner up and love on this kids in our care, we are going to see an awesome future for them and the kingdom of God.  So who is with me?  Let’s be part of this village/Church together and impact lives as a family.

Youth Ministry

Life: zoe (Greek) Life real and genuine; a life active and vigorous, devoted to God, blessed. All life throughout the universe, is derived-i.e it always (only) comes from and is sustained by God’s self- existent life. The Lord intimately shares His gift of life with people, creating each in His image which gives all the capacity to know His eternal life. ( biblehub.com) Today’s youth are intellectual and hungry to develop a connection with Christ. We believe that youth are ready to meet the passionate and loving Father and to grow spiritually in His grace. The Rock is committed to seeing youth reach their highest potential in Christ. “Let no one despise your youth; instead, you should be an example to the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.” 1 Timothy 4:12family 2015

Pastors Michael and Casey Gragg

michael   In January of 2015, Pastors Michael and Casey Gragg heard a clear word from the Lord to start a non-denominational church in Boone, NC that would bring grace to the High Country.  Their dream of every person receiving and knowing the grace of Jesus Christ has become the driving factor of The Rock, and  that dream is one step closer to reality.  Both Michael and Casey were born in Boone, North Carolina, and have four amazing children:  Trathan (8), Lainey (6), Tatym (4), and Baylor (2).  The Graggs desire to create and cultivate a culture of grace-filled believers who desire a relationship with the Lord through the guidance of the Holy Spirit.  Michael and Casey have been waiting a long time to serve together, side by side, as pastors who lead by example through their love, grace, and hope for what’s to come. As Casey declares, “We are committed to this house, this body of believers and our vision of bringing unfiltered grace to the High Country.”
